Anantapur SP receives FICCI Smart Policing Award
Anantapur SP Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu received the prestigious Smart Policing Award 2019 instituted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry for his innovation while working as Prakasam district SP in a function held in New Delhi on Friday.
Ongole: Anantapur SP Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu received the prestigious Smart Policing Award 2019 instituted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry for his innovation while working as Prakasam district SP in a function held in New Delhi on Friday.
While working as the Prakasam SP, Yesubabu conceptualised and established Technical Data Analytic Centre for Excellence in Ongole. With the TDACE, the police will be able to utilise data like road accidents to map hotspots and make necessary arrangements to reduce them.
This can be utilised to get the data about various crimes, their happening frequency in a particular area, time of the offence and mode of operandi. The then SP of Anantapur, GVG Ashok Kumar received Special Jury Award for his implementation of five rules on road safety.
The FICCI organises a conference on homeland security and presents Smart Policing Awards to the officers who are striving for control of crime. This year, in its 11th edition of the awards, it took the theme, Innovation led Cyber Crime Management. This year FICCI received 196 entries for the awards but selected 30 officers and only two officers from AP.
The Minister of State in the Prime Minister's office Dr Jitender Singh presented the awards to the two officers. The Union Minister said the human right of a security person is much more paramount compared to that of a criminal or a miscreant or a terrorist.
A nation which does not have the conscious to respect the sacrifices of its security persons is doomed to meet its imminent end by getting consumed by the same forces which it tends to appease, he said after distributing awards to the police officers.
He added the nation and the society were gradually getting conditioned to look at things in the eye instead of getting confused by duplicities. The Modi government is committed to stand by the security forces and make policing more effective whether it be for laws relating to women or drug trafficking, he said.
