Amaravati: The State government is contemplating to proceed for the criminal proceeding in the suspended senior police officer AB Venkateswara Rao, Director General of Police.

Meanwhile, the sources in the government informed that they will first initiate the criminal cases against the officer. Then they will look for the investigation. At the same time, the government is also thinking of handing over the case to the CBI, if it is required. The case needs to be investigated in the cross border.

It is known that the officer was suspended on Saturday by the state government. There were altogether seven allegations against the officer. The most important one among them is, "Venkateshwara Rao colluded with M/s RT Inflatables Pvt. Ltd., an Israeli Defence equipment manufacturer to illegally award critical intelligence and surveillance contract to his son, Chetan Sai Krishna, CEO, M/s Akasam Advanced Systems Pvt. Ltd. (primary bidder on behalf of M/s RT Inflatables Pvt. Ltd.)", informed the sources in the State government.

Reacting on the case, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Advisor to Govt (Public Affairs) tweeted that on Sunday, "Venkateswara Rao worked only for TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu but not for the people in the last five years. When Venkateswara Rao was serving in the Intelligence department, he misused the system to damage the YSRCP. The officer served as a middleman to coax the 23 YSRCP MLAs into the then ruling TDP. By purchasing the technology, the officer tapped all the mobile phones of YSRCP leaders, including my phone. It was done in an illegal manner. He ran a mafia".

Before that, the TDP Lok Sabha Member Kesineni Nani satirically tweeted that, "We thought that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will honour the officer, who was responsible for the winning of YSRCP, for Jagan to become CM and also for the defeat of TDP. But, you suspended him". Nani asked the Chief Minister in a satirical manner.

Replying to that tweet, Ramakrishna Reddy stated that, "Kesineni Nani indirectly accepted the criminal activities of AB Venkateswara Rao by tweeting like that".
