Amaravati: Dr R Paneer Selvam, University of Arkansas, USA, highlighted the important challenges a fluid dynamics researcher must face in near future for the advancement in the area. It was an ever-growing discipline in the engineering field, he said while delivering the inaugural address on the first day, on Sunday.
VIT-AP University hosted a three-day online International Conference on Application of Fluid Dynamics (ICFAD-2020) which concluded on Tuesday. It was the fifth international conference that brought together the scientists, engineers and industrial experts to present the latest achievements and innovations in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics to discuss path-breaking developments and challenges in order to select potential directions for the future.
ICAFD-2020 invited resource persons from USA, Australia, UAE, Singapore, South Africa and other countries and reputed Universities like IIT, NIT, VIT and Central Universities from India.
Vice-Chancellor Dr SV Kota Reddy highlighted the role of conference for intellectual growth of an individual and the importance of the application aspect of fluid dynamics influencing daily life.
Dr Pankaj Tambe, chairperson of the conference said that 175 participants were registered for the conference. Out of 25 participants from USA, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, UAE, Singapore, West Indies, Australia and the rest are from different states of India which includes IITs, NITs, Central Universities.
Dr G Viswanathan, chancellor of University praised the School of Mechanical Engineering for organising the conference during the pandemic.
Dr Pradeep S Siddeswar, Christ University and Dr S Sreenadh, Sri Venkateswara University summarised the entire three-day programme giving suggestions to young researchers in valedictory function on Tuesday.
Dr S Srinivas, co-chair and convenor of the conference, Dr CLV Sivakumar, registrar, Dr S Srinivas, Dr Pankaj Tambe, Dr Mohanty, Dr Satyanarayana Badeti, Dr Amit, Dr VR Reddy, S Karthikeyan of the university and Dr J Prakash of University of Johannesburg of South Africa successfully arranged the conference.
