But, it seems there is no festive atmosphere in Amaravati as they have started Sankranti celebrations with protests.
Under the auspices of the Capital Conservation Committee, the leaders set up bonfires in a private place near Benz Circle in Vijayawada. The ceremony was attended by Chandra Babu Naidu, Kesineni Nani, Gadde Rammohan Rao, Devineni Uma, Bode Prasad, Bachula Arjunudu, Ashok Babu, Varla Ramaiah, Janasena leader Rajani and former ZPTC chairperson Gadde Anuradha. Women farmers and students were also gathered at protests.

MP Galla Jayadev, former MP Maganti Babu and former MLA Shravan Kumar were present at a protest at the Mahadarna camp in Tulluru. The leaders protested by consigning GN Rao and Boston committee reports in a bonfire set for Bhogi celebrations.
Speaking in Amaravati, Chandrababu dared the YCP government to resign and seek fresh mandate. "If people still support him I will quit politics, he said.
Stating that Visakhapatnam would not develop if a couple of offices were shifted, he said that a comprehensive plan is needed for the development of north Andhra districts Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.
