Dr P Lakshmi Narasimham, Commissioner, APCRDA inaugurated Kuchipudi dance performance of Nihanthri Reddy and her students as part of the monthly dance programme Natyasravanti was organised jointly by Malaxmi Group, Srinivasa Farms and the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) here on Saturday.

Vijayawada: Dr P Lakshmi Narasimham, Commissioner, APCRDA inaugurated Kuchipudi dance performance of Nihanthri Reddy and her students as part of the monthly dance programme Natyasravanti was organised jointly by Malaxmi Group, Srinivasa Farms and the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) here on Saturday.

The Commissioner said that Nihanthri Reddy excelled in the fast moments of hand gestures and rhythmic steps in Kuchipudi dance. The chief guest complimented the artiste for her talented display of various vicissitudes of Kuchipudi dance throughout.

A Lakshmi Kumari, CEO, AP State Culture and Creativity Commission, said that Nihanthri Reddy enthralled the audience with her scintillating skills of Kuchipudi dance. Prof MC Das, management consultant appreciated the artiste for displaying postures as per Natyasastra.

Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA briefed the audience on the programme and introduced the artiste. Nihanthri Reddy presented the invocatory item, 'Gajavadana Beduve', composed by Sri Purandara Dasa and choreographed by 'Padmabhushan' Dr Vempati Chinna Satyam set to the ragam Hamsadhwani and Aditalam in which the Nayika prays to the son of Parvati, Ganesha, who abolishes all vighnas and showers blessings on his devotees.

She then moved to 'Bho Shambho', composed by Swami Dayananda Saraswati, choreographed by 'Padmasri' Dr Sobha Naidu set to the Revati ragam, Aditalam and the dancer offered her salutations to Lord Shiva. Sandeep Mandava, CEO, Malaxmi Properties felicitated the artiste with a memento and shawl.
