458 vehicles sanctioned to Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram: The State government is taking steps to deliver the essentials and groceries like red gram and sugar to the doorsteps of the consumers.
In all 458 Tata Magic vehicles have been sanctioned to the district to operate the door delivery system and the same number of youth would be provided employment.
On Wednesday, Joint Collector GC Kishore visited the Tata Motors dealer, inspected the vehicles and instructed the dealer concerned to modify the vehicles as per the design given by the government including painting, grills and others.
Later, the Joint Collector said that 250 vehicles would be ready in a few days time and the rest of the vehicles would come in the second phase of allotment by the government. He said 458 youth were picked by the SC, ST, BC and Minority corporations and they were sanctioned loans under the Self-employment scheme.
They would be able to earn some income and feed their families through the operation of these vans. The vehicles are equipped with special siren, mike and announcement system and the equipment to weigh and measure the groceries
