Tirupati: As many as 400 youth led by former district Youth Congress president Patakam Venkatesh joined the TDP in the presence of sitting MLA and TDP nominee for Tirupati Assembly M Suguna, here on Saturday. Muslim women also joined in the TDP at STV Nagar in the city and vowed to work for the victory of TDP in Tirupati.
Welcoming them into the party, Suguna said that the TDP government is the only government in the country that introduced more than 150 welfare schemes including for minorities in the country and also set up corporations for the economic development of weaker sections. Assuring her support to the Muslim minority, more so women for their progress, Suguna said that she will be always available to the women in needy.
MLA said that it was rather imperative to elect TDP in the election to see that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu government continue the development initiatives and welfare programmes with renewed vigour.
Venkatesh said that the youth impressed by the excellent performance of Chandrababu joined in the TDP to strengthen his hands. The youth asserted that they will work for the resounding victory of Suguna in the election. TUDA chairman G Narasimha Yadav, former MLA A Mohan and others were present.
