300 promoted cops meet DGP

Amaravati: Around 300 personnel of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police, recently promoted as Armed Reserve Sub-Inspectors (AR SIs), met Harish Kumar Gupta, Director General of Police, at the Police Headquarters in Mangalagiri on Tuesday. The officers, accompanied by APSP Battalions IGP B Rajakumari, paid a courtesy call after completing their promotion training.
It may be recalled that the State government recently issued orders promoting 300 Head Constables as AR SIs. Though the promotion process for Civil, AR, and APSP personnel had begun during 2014–19, it was stalled for APSP staff due to technical reasons and the enforcement of the election code.
After successfully completing a 12-day promotion training programme, the newly promoted AR SIs met the DGP, who congratulated them on their achievement. He described the simultaneous promotion of 300 personnel as a rare and significant development. On the occasion, the DGP expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for facilitating the promotions. He urged the officers to discharge their duties with integrity, honesty, dedication, and a strong sense of service. The DGP stated that the promotions are not only recognition of their hard work but also an opportunity to shoulder greater responsibilities in the future.
He called upon the officers to perform their duties impartially and uphold the reputation of the police department. Later, the DGP inaugurated a newly constructed “Ceremonial Guard Room” for guards at the Mangalagiri Police Headquarters, in the presence of senior police officials. Among those present were senior IPS officers including Ravishankar Ayyannar, Ake Ravikrishna, Rajeev Kumar Meena, Intelligence Chief Mahesh Chandra Ladda, Additional DGP (Law & Order) N Madhusudan Reddy, APSP IGP Rajakumari, and other high-ranking officials.
