Tirupati: The new 108 and 104 vehicles that have reached Tirupati have been inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy and Minister for Panchayat Raj P Ramachandra Reddy on Thursday. The state government has allotted 64 vehicles of 104 service and 38vehicles of 108 service besides two neo natal ambulances to Chittoor district.

The vehicles meant for various mandals in the district were flagged off at SV University's Tarakarama stadium by the two ministers along with other public representatives and district Collector Dr N Bharat Gupta.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister P Ramachandra Reddy has recalled that it was YS Rajasekhar Reddy who introduced 108 and 104 services to help the people in medical emergencies. He criticised that the successive governments have made those services redundant by sending the vehicles to sheds.

But, the CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted to revive these services in the best interests of the people. While the media from entire country has been lauding this initiative, it was very unfortunate that opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu has been criticising it alleging irregularities. It was the practice of Naidu to criticise any good initiative from the beginning, the Minister said.

DY CM K Narayana Swamy has said that the CM has been treating the party's election manifesto as Bible, Gita and Khuran and fulfilling each and every promise he made. He always thinks of people and their problems, he stated.

Collector Bharat Gupta has also spoke on the occasion and said that the results of about 5000 samples are pending for Covid testing in the district. If any positive patient prefers to stay at home if they have separate bed room and bathroom, they will be permitted accordingly.

Chittoor MP N Reddeppa, MLAs B Madhusudan Reddy, K Adimulam, DM&HO Dr M Penchalaiah, DCHS Dr P Saralamma have participated in the inaugural event.
