Woman tehsildar set ablaze by unidentified assailant in Hyderabad

In a horrific incident, a woman tehsildar was set ablaze by an unidentified assailant here at Abdullpurmet on Monday. She succumbed to severe burn injuries on the spot.

Getting into details, the miscreant barged into the tehsildar's office during lunch hour and poured petrol on the tehsildar Vijaya Reddy and set her ablaze. Two others including a driver who tried to douse the fire were also injured. They were shifted to a hospital in Hayathnagar.

Meanwhile, the office staff caught hold of the accused and handed over him to the police. They suspected that a land dispute might have led to the attack.

Vijaya Reddy was the first tehsildar after the formation of Abdullapurmet mandal. Her body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem.
