Gadwal: Water from Tummilla Lift Irrigation Project released
Gadwal: Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy released water from Tummilla Lift Irrigation Project at Tummilla village in Alampur mandal of Gadwal district on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the first phase of Tummilla project was completed in a record time of just six months and it was possible for the TRS government to complete the works and provide irrigation waters to the parched areas of Alampur mandal.
In fact, last year in June, the then Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao had laid foundation for the construction of Tummilla Lift Irrigation Project with a cost Rs 783 crore. The Phase I of the project was completed in a record time of just six months and now it come under Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme, where in water from Tungabhadra River is lifted to irrigate 87,000 acres in Gadwal and Alampur constituencies.
