Wanaparthy District Collector Swetha Mohanthi plants sapling

Wanaparthy: District Collector Swetha Mohanthi accepted the Green Challenge thrown at her by Mahbubnagar District Collector Ronald Rose and planted a sapling at Collector campus premises on Wednesday.

Earlier last week on December 6, Mahbubnagar District Collector Ronald Rose, who responded to the Green challenge thrown at him by Khammam Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, planted a few saplings at the Collector camp office and continued the cycle and challenged Wanaparthy and Gadwal Collectors.

Responding to this, Wanaparthy Collector Swetha Mohanthi accepted the green challenge and planted saplings at her camp office. While speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that planting saplings is very much important on the part of each and every individual. Planting trees will not only save our environment from global warming in the long run but also protect us from severe environmental conditions like draughts and floods.

The Wanaparthy Collector keeping the cycle on further challenged the district officials and all the heads of departments in the district to plant at least three saplings in their office premises.
