Palakeedu (Suryapet): Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former MP Vivek Venkataswamy stated that both the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi were responsible for the backwardness of Huzurnagar constituency and urged the people of the constituency to give a chance to the saffron in the bypoll and help in the development of the constituency with the Central and State funds.

On Friday, along with party bypoll candidate Dr Kota Ramarao, Vivek took part in the election campaign in a few villages of Palakeedu mandal of Huzurnagar constituency. He alleged that the TRS government was passing its time by doing nothing productive, and there would be use if people opted for Congress.

"The State with surplus funds at the time of bifurcation has been reeling under debts just in a short span of six years due to visionless programmes envisioned by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao," he said, listing out more than 100 welfare schemes being implemented by the BJP-led Central government.

Speaking about party candidate Rama Rao, he said BJP was the only party that could bring change in the society by giving equal political and other opportunities to the neglected sections on par with other power-enjoying sections.

In this poll campaign, BJP State sports wing leader Rakesh Reddy, party local leaders, supporters and people of respective villages participated.
