Vanasthalipuram: Students, teachers of TMREIS visit GSITI
Vanasthalipuram: The teachers and students of Barkas Girls Campus of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institution Society (TMREIS) visited Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI) as part of 'Bhuvisamvad' programme.
The one-day programme was inaugurated by Ch Venkateswara Rao, Deputy Director General and Head (M-V), GSI, SR, in the presence of Dr Taraknath Pal, Director-TC, and Dr S Ravi, Director, GSITI. Bhuvisamvad is a platform to promote interaction between GSI professionals and students.
The objective of the interactive sessions was to sensitise the children and create awareness among them about geoscience and its applications in day-to-day life as well as opportunities in geosciences for career building.
The students and teachers of TMREIS interacted with the faculty of GSITI who apprised them of the importance of geoscience education. During the programme, Dr S Ravi, Director, and Dr Bibhas Sen, Director, delivered lectures about the origin and evolution of earth and formation of rocks and minerals.
Rani Kajipuram, the principal of Barkas girls, TMREIS, other teachers and students appreciated GSITI for the efforts made by them for the welfare of students under Bhuvisamvad scheme. Further, they expressed their happiness about the interaction with the faculty of GSITI and for the support provided by GSITI to educate the students of TMREIS.
