Two accused in murder of ex-MPTC Srinivas Rao held in Bhadrachalam

Bhadrachalam (Kothagudem): The police on Friday arrested a CPI (Maoist) militia member and a sympathiser who were involved in the recent murder of ex-MPTC Nalluri Srinivas Rao of Bestha Kothur of Cherla mandal in the district.

Addressing the media in Friday, ASP Bhadrachalam Rajesh Chandra said that along with Cherla Circle Inspector, Sub-Inspector, Special Party Police and CRPF jawans, they were conducting a vehicle check at Kaliveru crossroads near Anjanapuram hillock and Peddamidisileru road. During the check, they spotted two persons moving suspiciously. When they saw the police, the duo tried to escape. However, the the police chased them and apprehended. The duo was identified as Jeedigunta Sateesh of Bestha Kothur and Sodi Unga of Kristarampadu of Cherla mandal.

While Sateesh was the militia member, Sodi Unga was the sympathiser. They confessed before police that they were involved in the murder of Srinivas Rao. The police seized two Maoist banners and 10 posters from Sodi Unga.
