Hyderabad: The case of RTC employees strike has come to the hearing in High court on Tuesday (November 12). The HC, which has already made some suggestions to the state government, has floated another proposal.

In order to solve the RTC strike, the HC said it would form a committee with three former Supreme Court Judges and ordered the Advocate General (AG) to tell the government's opinion over the proposed committee by Wednesday. For which AG said to the court that he would take the matter to the government.

As part of the hearing, senior advocate Vidya Sagar explained the court's powers and limitations. He said that the RTC strike comes under ESMA (Essential Services Maintenance Act) and to treat this strike as illegal. On this occasion, he recalled that in 1998 and 2015 the government had issued orders bringing RTC strike under ESMA.

On hearing the arguments, the court made it clear that the ESMA GO issued in 1998 applies to APSRTC and it's not for TSRTC. Moreover, the ESMA GO in 2015 is only applicable for six months. Later, the high court adjourned the next hearing to Wednesday (November 13).
