Trainee IAS officials meet PJTSAU VC Dr V Praveen Rao
Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Vice-Chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao said there is a need to encourage farmers to cultivate paddy under drip irrigation and educate them on effective water management.
Interacting with a seven-member Telangana cadre trainee IAS officers who visited the university on Monday, he said the university is striving hard to improve the productivity in rice and other crops.
Besides, the university has prepared a food consumption report and mandal-level soil fertility maps for effective soil health management and also planning to bring out 'farmer's level soil fertility maps' for micro-level planning.
The visiting IAS trainees held detailed discussions with the university officials on various issues related to agriculture in the State.
They enquired whether it is possible to replicate Ankapur Seed Village model in the State.
