Speaking during a discussion on Appropriation Bill in Assembly on Monday, KCR said that his government has "courage" to say openly and with authority that charges ought to be revised.

" 50,000 staff are working with commitment and dedication and ensuring 24-hours quality power supply to the people. This decision to increase is being done to aid these corporations," he said.

Commenting on the hike of stamps and registration charges, he said that his government increased not even one rupee on registration charges for the last 6 years as doubts were cast on the impact of real estate sector in the State.

Touching about liquor prices, Rao said that his government would increase liquor prices if needed.

The earlier decision to increase prices was aimed at ensuring people eschew the drinking habit as the increased liquor would make a hole in their pockets.

Those who can afford will buy whatever the prices are but others would think twice on emptying their pockets, he felt pointing out that complete prohibition was not possible in any State because several States share border with respective State and people resort to various tactics to bring them hoodwinking authorities.

He also stressed on government crackdown resulting in the closure of 1000 belt shops across the State.

Rao stated that the good work done by his government was recognised by people who have voted them to power again and also ensured party victory in various elections held in last one year, but strangely Congress party does not find one good deed done by the ruling party.

Responding to CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka's allegation that TRS compromised on height of Medigadda barrage in Kaleshwaram project from the earlier decided 152 metres, KCR challenged the Congress leader to show any agreement that Congress made in this regard. He further said he would resign his post if Congress showed him any agreement entered by them with Maharashtra on project construction with 152 m height.

Speaking earlier, Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka expressed doubts on budgetary figures and allocations made by the government. He wanted to know if the government would further push the State into more debts as revenue receipts and capital receipts figures are not in accordance and as desired.
