Telangana: EC allots 18 tables to Nizamabad for vote counting

The State Election Commission has sought permission from Election Commission of India to hold the vote counting on 18 tables in Nizamabad instead of 14 as the polling went off with the usage of a record of 12 EVMs.

The EC had given permission for the 14 tables during assembly elections. Since 18 tables are used for 12 ballot units per booth bow, officials can accommodate 216 ballot units, which needs more space.

Each unit in the polling booth will have the details of the votes polled for 185 candidates.
