A delegation led by Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay gave a memorandum to Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan demanding an inquiry into the massive corrupt practices in the irrigation sector. "This has been uninterruptedly happening during the last six years but has reached its peak as recently as during the immediate past two months where the entire country was reeling under lockdown due to corona, he has silently continued his corrupt deeds by not only floating the tenders on March 31, 2020, to the tune of Rs 24,096 Crore during this lockdown but also awarded these works to his favourite firms and thus amassing huge amounts of cuts from them in return," said Sanjay. He said, BJP was for the construction of projects but was completely against the immense corruption taking place in the state in the name of construction of projects.

The BJP leader alleged that the chief minister after taking charge did not take up the pending projects and started new projects. The cost of all these projects was more than Rs 2.5 lakh Crore. Costs of the various components of these projects were highly escalated, works were given to firms favoured by him and huge cuts were taken by him from them, alleged Sanjay.
