Tandur: Road-widening works stayed
Tandur: The road-widening works going on for the last one month in the town from Indira Chowk to railway station has been stopped following a stay order issued by the High Court at Hyderabad, after owners of buildings on either side of the road approached it, contending that they were yet to get compensation. The State government released Rs 32 crore for the works.
Consequently, the road users, including pedestrians, are experiencing hardships after the road has been dug up and left incomplete. Even people are unable to walk on the stretch as stones have surfaced, some residents told The Hans India.
The work is stated to have been stopped, as the stipulation of laying the road to 40 ft width was not followed and only 33-ft road was laid. This resulted in the building owners not getting the compensation.
