Tame your cattle or get fined, warns Kothagudem DC Rajat Kumar Saini

Kothagudem: The owners of cattle would be fined henceforth if the cattle belonging to them found straying on the main roads in the towns and villages in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini on Friday directed the gram panchayat officials and municipal commissioners in that regard. He told the officials to impose penalties on the cattle owners if the cattle was found on the main roads for the first time.

If the cattle was found on roads for the second time the animals would be handed over to goshalas. The cattle owners should ensure their cattle does not stray onto the roads, the Collector said.

The decision was taken following the suggestions made at recent meeting of Society for Prevention of Cruelty office bearers at Kothagudem.

The officials and the society members raised the issue of cattle moving on the roads causing roads accidents.

Moreover, the cattle moving on roads consuming leftovers dumped by the side of roads and are dying.

The officials have to act strictly in curbing cattle moving on roads, the Collector stated.
