Karimnagar: Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika (TVV) Satavahana University committee president Anil alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is trying to dissolve the government education sector by introducing private universities across the State.

The TVV members burnt an effigy of the government in front of the University on Tuesday, demanding the government withdrawal of the decision of establishment of private universities in the State. Speaking on the occasion, Anil said separate Statehood for Telangana was achieved over the sacrifices of many students, who fought for the movement.

KCR is trying to handover the education sector completely to private persons by making an understanding with them, he criticised. When the students studying in government schools are suffering due to lack of basic infrastructure and facilities in the schools and those studying in universities are facing lot of hardships due to lack of regular Vice-Chancellors and permanent teaching staff, KCR, instead of concentrating on strengthening of such schools and universities, is extending a helping hand to corporate biggies like Ambani and Birla.

He wants to dissolve the government education sector by giving permission to corporate companies for the establishment of private universities, he pointed out. Anil demanded that the government should withdraw the decision immediately and appoint a regular Vice-Chancellor to Satavahana University along with the introducing of Common School Educational System in the state.

Otherwise, all the student unions will intensify the agitations and will teach a befitting lesson to the government, the TVV leader warned. TVV leaders Raju, Vital, Mahesh, Venkatesh, Ranadheer and others were present.
