Suddala became Swachh village: OSD Priyanka Varghese
Peddapalli: Suddala village of Sultanabad mandal has been made as Swachh village, said OSD at Chief Minister's Office Priyanka Varghese. During her tour to Peddapalli district on Tuesday, Priyanka Varghese inspected the implementation of Haritha Haram, Vanara Vanam (Monkey Garden) and sanitation works in Suddala village.
District Collector Devasena told the OSD that as part of the five-year plan, they encouraged the villagers to establish compost and soaking pits along with kitchen gardens, construction of toilets and to plant at least six saplings in their surroundings.
Also, they were strictly told to prohibit singe use of plastic and to use Sabala sanitary napkins. A sticker will be pasted on the wall of the houses of those, who are implementing all the things perfectly, she added.
Speaking on the occasion, OSD at f CM office Priyanka Varghese expressed happiness after inspecting soaking pits, compost pits, kitchen gardens set up by the villagers.
She told the villagers to protect the saplings that were planted and transform the village into a model one like that of Gangadevipalli village of Warangal district. She praised the efforts of the district administration for taking such kind of initiation for transforming the Suddala into a Swachh village.
District Collector Devasen informed the OSD that all the planted saplings are protected with the funds released by NTPC, RFCL, Singareni and Kesoram cement factories under CSR.
Peddapalli revenue divisional officer Upendar Reddy, District Forest Officer Ravi Prasad and other officials were present.
