State level assessment exams for Classes VIII, IX on Jan 30
Hyderabad: The Telangana State School Education Department (TSSED) said that the proposed State Level Assessment Survey (ALAS) under Samagra Sikhsha Abhiyan (SSS) for Class VIII and IX students will be held on January 30.
In a communiqué, the SSS Project Director Dr T Vijaya Kumar said that the OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) based examination will be held across the State in all the government, local body, aided, KGBVs, TS Model Schools and TS Residential Schools. The test is meant for assessment and to improve the academic standards, he said.
Accordingly, the OMR based examination will be held for two hours duration for both the classes on the same day. Further, the question papers will be in the form of a booklet based on the medium and the first language.
For the same, he said that all schools need to make necessary preparations and the confidential material and the OMR sheets will be provided by the Director of Government Examinations (DGE).
The storage points for safekeeping of the confidential material are the local police station strong rooms, for which, police bandobast will be arranged at the district and mandal levels.
The local headquarters senior headmaster will be appointed as the join custodian to deposit and operate confidential material, he said.
