State government is committed to minorities welfare: Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy
Miryalaguda (Nalgonda): Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy stated that while the State government was taking care of development of the State on one hand, on the other it was giving top priority to the welfare of neglected sections of the society.
Along with local MLA N Bhaskar Rao, the Minister on Friday inaugurated the 33 /11 KV substation constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 1.22 crore and laid foundation stone for a mosque to be constructed in seven acres with an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore at Avanthipuran in the town. He also laid foundation stones for several works in the town.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Reddy said keeping his 2014 poll promise, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had provided round-the-clock power supply to farm sector and paid special attention to irrigation projects to turn the State into self-sufficient.
After laying foundation stone for construction of mosque, the Minister informed that TRS was the first government to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr officially.
Stating that there was communal violence in Telangana region before 2014, he said there were no incidents of communal violence post TRS came to power in the State. He claimed that TRS was the only party that follows secularism and honour all religions equally.
As part of welfare, the State government allocated Rs 1,000 crore for the welfare of Muslim community and established 120 minority residential schools to provide quality education to children of the community besides free food and accommodation.
He listed out the State government's welfare schemes and achievements in the last five years and urged the people of the State to bless the TRS in the forthcoming municipal elections.
Rythu Samanvaya Samithi State chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, ZPTC Tippana Vijaya Simha Reddy and party local leaders took part in the programmes.
