Nalgonda/Suryapet/Bhongir: The State Formation Day on Tuesday was a low-key affair in the erstwhile Nalgonda district due to lockdown norms.

As part of official celebrations, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy and Government Whip Gongidi Sunitha hoisted the national flag in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhongir districts respectively.

Speaking on this occasion, the three leaders stated the dream of carving Telangana State was realised after 14 years' agitation under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The people of the State   choose the TRS for the second time after observing the practical progress in the first five years, they added. The leaders explained the State government measures with facts and figures in correcting the injustice done to Telangana in the united Andhra Pradesh.

The leaders listed out various welfare schemes being implemented by the government for the welfare of all sections of the society and milestones achieved by the TRS government in the past six years. The trio leaders stated that the CM, on one hand paying attention on good governance and on the other, taking care of agriculture sector by introducing innovative schemes to make famers rich. The leaders described KCR as Bhagirtha, who planned several irrigation projects to make the State fertile and to address drinking water issues permanently.

Before unfurling the national flag, the leaders along with district officials, people's representatives and party leaders paid tributes to Telangana Martyrs at respective district headquarters.
