Special insurance plan for Forest officials soon in Yadadri-Bhongir

Choutuppal (Yadadri-Bhongir): District Collector Anita Ramachandran called for everyone's involvement in Haritha Haram to transform Yadadri-Bhongir a green district. On Wednesday, she participated in Forest department's Martyrs Memorial Day programme held at Smruthi Vanam in Choutuppal in the district.

After paying tributes to martyrs, as a mark of respect, she planted saplings near the memorial pillar.

Speaking on the occasion, she said the situation of Yadadri-Bhongir district was worst before the launch of Haritha Haram. However, the percentage of forest cover increased considerably after the plantation drive.

She informed that with collective efforts of people's representatives, officials and people of Yadadri-Bhongir, the district bagged first position in the State in terms of increasing green cover and got Rs 15 lakh incentive from the State government.

The Collector appreciated the role of Forest department in Haritha Haram and in protecting the forest lands.

Stating that land issues pertaining to Rachakonda area were very sensitive, she informed that district administration would show amicable solution to safeguard both farmers and Forest department.

She announced that a special insurance plan would be chalked out for the welfare of officials and staff of Forest department in the district.

The Collector also lauded the method of planting saplings at Tangedu Vanam at Lakkaram village in Choutuppal mandal and directed the Forest officials to expand same method to all mandals in the district.

District Forest Officer Venkateshwar Reddy, RDO S Suraj Kumar, MPP T Venkat Reddy, ACP Sataiah, Tahsildar Ravindra Sagar, forest rangers Sarveshwar Rao and Srinivas, Beat Officer Ramesh and staff took part in the programme.
