Secunderabad: Devotees throng Shiva temples on Maha Sivaratri

Secunderabad: Shiva temples in Cantonment, Secunderabad and Kukatpally assembly constituencies witnessed heavy rush even as devotees thronged temples from early morning on Friday on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.

Temples at Bowenpally, Tadbund, Sikh Village, New Vasavi Colony, Tirumulgherry and Bollarum in Cantonment constituency witnessed heavy rush of devotees. They performed 'Abishekam' and special pujas to the God Shiva. Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited Subramanya Swamy temple located at Maredpally and performed special puja on the occasion.

Pujas were performed at historic Balanjaneya temple at Wesley Teachers Colony, Old Bowenpally on the occasion and local leaders Jampana Prathap, former vice president of Cantonment Board, former board member J Vidyavathi, corporator Muddam Narsimha Yadav and others were among those who visited the temple. Special arrangements were made by temple committees for the celebrations.
