Sathupalli: Villagers told to protect saplings planted under Haritha Haram
Sathupalli (Khammam): District Collector RV Karnan appealed to the people to protect the saplings planted under Haritha Haram programme.
On Friday, as part of implementation of 30-day action plan, the Collector along with Local MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah visited Sathupalli consistency and planted the saplings at Ambedkar Centre in Tallada village.
The Collector inspected the dumping yard and also the saplings planted as part of the green drive. Later, during his visit to Narayanapuram village, he interacted with villagers and appealed to them to utilise the programme for the development of their village.
After visiting the Primary Health Centre, he suggested the villagers to keep their surroundings clean to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah said Sarpanches should play a key role in the development their villages and, also asked the Collector to sanction enough funds for carrying out development programmes. The MLA also added that the allocation of funds would be enhanced in the coming up days.
Kalluru Revenue Divisional Officer Sivaji, Sarpanches Hymavathi, Krishna Reddy, MPDO Subashini, Narmada, Tahsildar Yogeswara Rao and others attended the programme.
