Rally held on World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: Teenage girls must not get attracted to strangers and make friendship with them, suggested Traffic ACP Ashok Kumar.

A massive rally was held with the students of Sneha Vocational College from the college premises to bus stand here on Tuesday on the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse.

They later formed human chain at the bus stand circle. Inaugurating the rally, the traffic ACP said that due to excess usage of smart mobile phones, teenage girls of the present generation are easily getting attracted towards strangers and facing problems.

They must reduce the usage of smartphones and must concentrate on studies, he added.

About 90 percent of girls are becoming victims at the hands of their close relatives. Without any fear, the girls, if abused, should inform the matter either to their parents or to police personnel. If they are in problems, they can dial either to 1098 or 100 for immediate help, Ashok Kumar advised.

Councillor Sai Shruthi that several girls are facing sexual abuse, violence and harassment in houses, schools and colleges and some other places.

The World Day of Prevention of Child Abuse is being observed to give courage to girls to speak aloud about such incidents and to bring awareness about sexual abuse on girl children, she told.

Bala Raksh Bhavan coordinator Saraswathi said by downloading Hawk Eye app, teenage girls can lodge their complaints to the police without going to the police station if they face any kind of harassment and teasing during their way to college or schools or any other place.

Inspectors Sagar, Nagarjuna Rao, ICPS Protection Officer Shantha and 1098 members Pushpalatha, Sairam and Mahesh were present along with others.
