Rallies, human chain, Vanta Vaarpu in Khammam

Khammam: The JAC leaders and RTC workers on Tuesday staged massive protest rallies across the district as the strike entered 11th day. As part of the protest rally, they organised human chain programme, Vanta Vaarpu and signature campaign.

An all-parties round table meeting was held at Manchikanti Bhavan in Khammam which was organised by JAC leaders. In the meeting, leaders discussed the ongoing strike and called to make State bandh on October 19 a success.

The CPM, CPI, TDP, Congress and CPIML and teachers' union and NGO organisations participated in the round table meeting. During the time, the leaders demanded that the government immediately call talks with RTC unions and solve their demands.

Later, the party leaders, supporters and JAC leaders participated in massive protest and raised slogans against the government. After the rally, they conducted human chain programme at centre of Khammam town.

In Kothagudem district head quarter, the CPM party organised signature campaigning as support to the RTC strike. In Bhadrachalam, the RTC workers and JAC leaders participated in Vanta Vaarpu programme.

Local MLA Podem Veeraiah participated the programme and rubbished rumours stating privatisation of the RTC. He demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao immediately call the RTC unions for talks.
