Rain, lightning, gusty winds lash city
Hyderabad: Rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, with the speed of 32 kmph, lashed Hyderabad on Tuesday. The rain provided much-needed relief from the scorching sun to the netizens.
Parts of the cities like Kapra, ECIL, Sainikpuri, Moulali, Kushaiguda, Secunderabad, Alwal, Bolaram, Chandanagar, Miyapur, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Panjagutta, Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Nampally, Abids, Koti, Malakpet, Dilsukhnagar and LB Nagar witnessed rains. Tolichowki, Nadeem Colony, Nanal Nagar, B S Maqtha, M S Maqtha and other low-lying areas were inundated with rainwater.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over the State in the next three days.
Maximum temperature is likely to continue above normal by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius at a few places in the State.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Dana Kishore alerted the Disaster Management staff in the view of moderate to heavy thunderstorms across various parts of the city.
IMD, Hyderabad also said due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over North Interior of Karnataka and neighbourhood persisted and now it extended up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Due to this effect, in Telangana there is a light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm.
