Tupran: Private schools are continuing their businesses throwing all rules to the wind. Though forcible selling of books by the schools in not allowed, the business is going unabated.

Parents are complaining that the prices of books are high in schools, compared to outside in the market. But, the school managements are forcing the parents and pupil to buy books from them only. Recently, leaders of ABVP caught Sri Chaitanya Techno School red handed and complained to MEO Narsimhulu.

He acted promptly and served notice to the school. He said that he would take action as per the instructions of DEO. In another incident, he seized the sale counter in a private school wherein government textbooks are also being sold. A parent lamented that without taking proper permissions, private schools are selling books at high prices, causing burden on them.

On the other hand, school managements are arguing that they can sell books. But, the situation is that they are forcing parents to buy books at their counters. "If we bought from outside in the market, they would harass our kids," a mother said.

The student unions are keeping vigil on such practices by the private schools, but unable to control, as the officers concerned are turning blind eye to these unauthorized selling of books. Parents are appealing to the authorities to take appropriate action against the erring school managements.
