Kamareddy: Police rescue 2 persons stranded in stream

Kamareddy: Rajampet Sub-Inspector Satish Kumar and his team had rescued two youth on Saturday night, when the auto in which they were travelling was stuck in an overflowing stream between Kondapur and Gundaram villages in Rajampet mandal, Kamareddy district.

Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts had received heavy rainfall on Saturday and Argonda village of Rajampet mandal recorded highest rainfall of 10 cm. All the streams in villages are overflowing with rainwater.

The police were informed at around 11.40 pm on Saturday about the two persons of Nagireddypet mandal trapped in the overflowing stream. SI Satish went to the spot along with his team and worked for about one and half hour in the dark to get the auto and the passengers out of the stream. The two youth thanked the police for saving their lives.

The officials have lifted four gates of Kalyani project as the project has been flooded with good inflow due to the heavy rainfall in Yellareddy mandal, Kamareddy district. About 2000 cusecs of water was released.
