Not even 50 pc funds granted for SCs, STs being spent: Congress MLA D Anasuya

Hyderabad: Congress MLA D Anasuya on Monday alleged that not even 50 per cent of the allocated budget was spent on SCs and STs. She demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao chair two meetings every year for effective spending.

Taking part in discussion on the demands, Anasuya alleged that though Rs 56,979 crore were allocated in the budget not even 50 per cent was spent by the government.

She said that the SC, ST sub plan funds were not getting carry forward. The Chief Minister should convene two meetings at least in a year on the SC, ST sub plan so that the allocated money is spent, said Anasuya.

The Congress member further alleged that the SC, STs were not getting bank guarantee for loans. She demanded that the government extend the Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Beema schemes to the Tribal farmers.

Alleging that the atrocities had increased against women, Anusuya demanded more She Teams in the villages. "There are She Teams in Hyderabad but there are no such teams in villages.

There should be fast action against the people who harass women," said Anasuya.
