Nizamabad: Minister Indrakaran inaugurates Sarangapur urban forest park

Minister Allolla Indra Karan Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated urban forest park at Sarangapur of Nizamabad district. Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy also took part in the event. The park is spread over 105 hectares and is developed at a cost of Rs 3.37 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to develop the parks in the view of improving the living standards of the people. "Officials of various departments along with the forest department are working to achieve 33 percent of greenery by Haritha Haram," the minister added.

While the towns and cities are getting affected by pollution, the government is working to enhance the forest area to prevent pollution. The government has recognized the forest areas nearby the towns and cities and is developing them as urban parks to prevent ecological imbalance and improve the percentage of oxygen, he said.

The Telangana government has proposed to develop 94 parks in the state at a cost of Rs 500 crore. Of the total, 32 parks have been brought to existence.
