Nirmal: Students told to take inspiration from Abdul Kalam
Nirmal: Students should take inspiration from former President Abdul Kalam and should excel in science and technology, said Zilla Parishad chairperson Koripelli Vijayalakshmi, speaking at 47th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environmental District Science Exhibition-2019 at St Thomas School in Nirmal on Monday.
The ZP chief said science should be developed and every student must have a talented career. The State government is providing quality education to students, who are financially poor, in Gurukul and Kasturba schools. stating that foreigners are following our Indian culture and traditions, she asked the teachers and parents to teach our culture and tradition to the children from an early age.
District Library Institute Chairman Errothu Rajender said even though science is very advanced, still people are believing superstitious things in rural areas. Students should visit libraries to read various books to get knowledge.
District Education Officer T Praneetha said science fair is being conducted only to uncover the creativity in the students. District Science Officer Dr Vinod Kumar said district has been conducting district-level science fairs for the past three years. 642 exhibitions in 2017, 442 exhibitions in 2018 and 476 exhibitions in this year on Mathematical Modelling and students presented their experiments.
Nirmal MPP Kondapalli Rameshwar Reddy, Kondapur Sarpanch Gangadhar, Sectoral Officers, Mandal Educators, Principals, various Teachers Union presidents, secretaries, students and others were present.
