Nalgonda: DTF, TVV extend helping hand to agitating RTC workers

Nalgonda: Extending a helping hand to the agitating RTC workers who are on strike for the last 39 days, a software engineer, Nandibatla Ravi, leaders of Democratic Teachers Federation (DTF), Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika (TVV) and Retired Lecturers Association provided 25kg rice bags and 15 essential commodities to 60 RTC workers at the office of TVV in Nalgonda on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the DTF State vice-president M Somaiah and TVV State president Ambati Nagaiah fired salvos on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his adamant attitude towards the issues of RTC workers, and demanded him to hold talks with the employee unions and come to a consensus over the workers demands.

"The Chief Minister who is deliberately trying to ruin the public transport system in the State will face serious consequences from the people of the State in the coming up days," they said.

Leaders of Retired Lectures Association Narsi Reddy and Vijay Kumar stated that it was the duty of the government to save corporations like RTC without looking for profits. They expressed their angst against the State government for not obeying the court orders, and advised the government to invite agitating RTC workers for talks and address their demands in an amicable way.

Meanwhile, the RTC workers expressed their gratitude after receiving rice bags and essential commodities. DTF leader Venkulu, poet Munasu Venkanna, TVV leader Pandula Saidulu and others were present.
