My son is innocent: Prashanth's father
Hyderabad: Missing man from Hyderabad Prashanth, who was said to be in Pakistan police's custody, is neither a traitor nor a terrorist, claim's Prashanth's father M Babu Rao. He said that his son was going through depression after love failure.
"My son is innocent and soft-hearted by nature. He does not have links with any anti-social elements," M Babu Rao said.
Babu Rao along with his elder son addressed media in Hyderabad on Tuesday. He said Prashanth was employed as a software engineer by a firm in Bengaluru.
While working there, he fell in love with a girl hailing from Madhya Pradesh State, about which they came to know much later. Prashanth has been in depression after the girl spurned his moves, he added.
After filing a missing complaint with the Madhapur police in 2017, the family members along with the police made all efforts to trace Prashanth but their attempts were in vain.
Babu Rao said that he had no information regarding his son's whereabouts since 2017 and only came to know through media that Prashanth was arrested by Pakistan police.
"My son is innocent. He does not have any links with anti-social elements. I do not know any person with the name Durmi Lal," he stated.
He requested the Union government to take immediate steps to ensure Prashanth's release. Later, he along with his elder son met Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar and sought help in bringing Prashanth back to India safely from Pakistan.
He said that the Commissioner assured speedy expedition after contacting concerned officials.
