Damercherla (Nalgonda): The movement of people and vehicles was stalled between Damarcherla and Janpahad villages in Nalgonda and Suryapet districts owing to inundation of Musi bridge due to heavy inflows into Krishna River.

The low-lying areas in the said villages were inundated as lakhs of cusecs of water from Nagarjunasagar project was released.

The water in Musi river in Damarcherla has been increasing due to confluence of Krishna-Musi rivers at Vadapally village in the mandal. This led to inundation of Musi bridge, which is just 5 km far from the confluence.

Officials of both Nalgonda and Suryapet have been monitoring the flood situation. Suryapet SP R Venkateshwarlu, in a press statement, advised the fishermen to not to venture into both Krishna and Musi rivers as the inflows have been increased.
