MLA promises mini stadium in Kodad

Suryapet/Bhongir: Kodad MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav stated that one can get international name and fame like sportspersons Dhyan Chand and PV Sindhu by giving their best to the sport they have chosen. He said to encourage and promote sports, he would put all out efforts to construct a mini stadium at Kodad.

On Thursday, the MLA flagged off and participated in a 2K Run at Kodad town organised by private Physical Education Teachers, Kabbadi Association and NGO organisations on the occasion of hockey player late Dhyan Chand's anniversary which is being celebrated as National Sports Day every year.

Speaking on the occasion, he said sportspersons would prove their mettle at national and international level if they were provided with necessary training and encouragement.

Citing ace badminton player PV Sindhu, he advised the parents to encourage their daughters on par with sons in sports.

He assured to put all out efforts for the construction of a mini stadium in Kodad town in the interest of sports lovers and sports promoters.

On the occasion, he felicitated local sportspersons who represented Telangana in national-level games and sports competitions.

Similarly, on the occasion of National Sports Day, Yadadri-Bhongir District Collector Anita Ramachandran inaugurated one-day district level sports meet at Government Junior College grounds in Bhongir.

Speaking on the occasion, she advised the students and youth to excel in sports to keep physically and mentally fit to face any challenges in a sportive manner and to achieve their life goals and to bring name and fame to the country at international level.

The National Sports Day was also celebrated on a grand note in Nalgonda district.
