Mission Bhagiratha project water to every household by 2020: Minister Gangula Kamalakar

Karimnagar: The people of Karimnagar district will get pure drinking water every month from January 2020 through Mission Bhagiratha project, informed BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar.

He held a review meeting with the officials of Mission Bhagiratha, urban and rural engineering officials along with City Municipal Commissioner G Venugopal Reddy to discuss the progress of Mission Bhagiratha works at the Collectorate conference hall in Karimnagar on Monday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister said about 90 per cent of works under Mission Bhagiratha were completed and ordered the officials concerned to complete the remaining 10 per cent works as early as possible. The officials were also ordered to complete the works under urban limits by December 15 and works under rural limits by November, along with conducting a trial run. Any leakages if found should be repaired immediately. At any cost, water through Mission Bhagiratha project must be supplied to every household by January 2020, he ordered.

Minister Kamalakar also ordered the officials to give connections to tanks that were constructed at Satavahana University, Housing Board Colony and Markfed areas in the city. As the Smart City works are about to start here, he told the officials to complete the pipeline laying works as early as possible without any delay and asked them to complete repair works if any.

Superintending Engineer Bhadraiah, Mission Bhagiratha, Public Health, R&W, L&T company, Municipal Engineering officials Amerandar, Chalamareddy, Uppalaiah, Yadagiri, Chaitanya, Vani and Devander were present along with others.
