Minister Indrakaran Reddy opens urban forests in Yadadri
Yadagirigutta: Forest Minister A Indrakaran Reddy stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has taken up Haritha Haram as the government's flagship programme as he strongly believes that ecological balance is possible only through preservation of forests.
On Friday, along with Rajya Sabha Member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, Minister Indrakaran Reddy inaugurated urban forest parks – Anjaneya Aranyam and Narasimha - at Rayagiri near Yadagirigutta.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said as per the CM's aim, the government will identify forest lands surrounding Hyderabad and other cities and will develop a part of these lands as urban lung spaces, urban forest parks, and eco-tourism parks.
Narasimha and Anjaneya urban parks were developed to provide a pleasant atmosphere to the tourists, who visit Yadadri, he added. Narasimha Aranyam was developed in 97.12 hectares in Rayagiri-2 reserve forest with Rs 3.61 crore and Anjaneya Aranyam in 56.55 hectares in Rayagiri-1 reserve forest with Rs 2.83 crore. PCCF R Shobha, additional PCCFs Lokesh Jaiswal, Chandrashekar Reddy, DFO DV Reddy, ACF Srinivas, local leaders and others participated in the programme.
Later, the Minister laid foundation stone for the construction district forest department office building with a cost of Rs 1.5 crore in two acres in Bhongir.
