Hanamkonda: A day after the suicide of a minor girl, who was allegedly molested by two youth, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Monday said that there was an imperative need for bolstering the She Teams that work incognito in the city exclusively for the safety and security of women. It may be recalled here that a 14-year-old girl hanged herself to death on Sunday, after she was molested by some youth on Saturday.

The Minister, who along with Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, consoled the family members of the girl at the latter's residence at Sammaiah Nagar in Hanamkonda said a special committee would be set up for women safety in Warangal.

"The culprits behind girl's molestation that eventually led to her suicide would be brought to the justice," the Minister said, pointing to P Praveen, who was awarded death penalty recently for molesting and killing a nine-month-old infant.

He assured that the government will extend its support to the family members of the victim. He said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had sought the information about the incident and is keen to take necessary steps for the speedy disposal of the case. The Minister emphasised the need for creating awareness among the girls so that they would not fall prey to the designs of such perverts. He appealed to people not to politicise such cases.

Assuring measures for the speedy disposal of the case, Vinay Bhaskar said that efforts are on to pursue the authorities for setting up a fast track court. Investigation Officer Hanamkonda ACP Ch Sridhar said a case has been registered under Sections IPC 306, 376DA, 506 and Section 5g (R/W) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act of 2018 against both the accused.
