Mining Revenues are on the rise: KTR
Hyderabad: Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Monday said that there was a significant increase in Mining Revenue in the State after formation of Telangana.
In his reply to a question raised by MLAs Balka Suman, Challa Dharma Reddy and Kranthi Kiran Chanti during Question Hour in Legislative Assembly, the minister informed that the State Government has initiated several reforms including Introduction of New Sand Mining Policy, 2014 and Telangana State Sand Mining Rules, 2015 entrusting extraction and disposal of sand through TSMDC Ltd., State PSU for effective regulation of the policy. It also eased procedure in implementation of the services through application of Information Technology.
The revenue from mining increased from Rs. 1968.26 Crore in 2014-15 to Rs. 2369.71 Crore in 2015-16; Rs. 3169.70 Crore in 2016-17; Rs. 3431.16 Crore in 2017-18 and Rs. 4848.85 Crore in 2018-19. The revenue in 2019-20 up to August this year was Rs. 876.74 Crore.
