Man found dead in suspicious circumstances in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A middle-aged man was found dead in a quarry here at Jagadgirigutta on Thursday night. He is suspected to have committed suicide.

According to the villagers, the man is said to have been depressed and used to spend most of time sitting on the hillock and moving around the quarry.

The police suspected that he might have jumped into the quarry, which had water in it, and committed suicide. A villager who was passing by the quarry saw him drowning in the quarry and rushed to his rescue but in vain.

The local villagers alerted the Jagadgirigutta police who rushed to the spot and retrieved the body with the help of expert swimmers. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased. The police registered a case and launched an investigation.

The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy.
