Mahbubnagar: Palamuru region soon to become Industrial hub

Mahbubnagar: As the State government is proposing to set up an industrial corridor along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru national highway, very soon the Palamuru region is going to become an industrial hub providing vast scale of employment and socio-economic development of the region.

According to information, the State government is planning to set up an industrial corridor in an area of more than 19,700 acres along national highways passing through Palamuru region.

As part of the proposed industrial corridor project, the District Collectors of Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet and Gadwal districts, through which the national highway pass, have been directed to identify vast chunks of government land ranging from 150 to 300 acres in the periphery of about 50-100 kilometer along NH 44 from Shadnagar to Alampur.

Overall, as many as eight districts in Telangana including, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Gadwal are expected to get benefit with the industrial hub.

Mahbubnagar district Industries Department General Manager Rajeshwar Reddy said the District Collector told them to identify government lands. A survey is being conducted to identify government lands and also identifying the type of land and topography of the region to ascertain if the areas is suitable for setting up industries, and if so what type of industries can be set up, he explained.

As Kottur, Jadcherla and Shadnagar are already have industrial hubs, the officials are focusing on other areas around Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Gadwal and Narayanpet regions for land. In Yedira village of Mahbubnagar district, already 370 acres have been earmarked for setting up of Information Technology Park, however, the government is planning to set up food processing, automobile parts manufacturing and other industries in Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool and Narayanpet regions.

It is understood that the government had appointed Deltais Consultancy for conducting the land survey and by end of May the consultancy is expected to submit a report to government.
