Kothagudem: Preventive Detention Act invoked against prisoner

Kothagudem: The police officials have invoked the Preventive Detention Act against an offender on the charges of terrorising public with his notorious activities, informed the Chinchupalli Circle Inspector Ashok.

District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini and Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt have issued the orders on Friday against the offender Md Aftab Ansari, who is a remand prisoner of Bhadrachalam sub jail.

The order was served to Ansari by the CI in the presence of sub jail Superintendent Anand Rao.

According to district police, the accused was involved in several cases of robbery and attacks on single women.

Cases were registered against the accused at various police stations in the State and in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, informed the CI.
