Kothagudem: MLA Vanama Venkateswara Rao issued pattas to the residents as part of the regularisation of SCCL lands under GO No 76, at a public meeting here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT and MAUD Minister KT Rama Rao for issuing the GO for land regularisation.

Stating that he was happy for fulfilling the long pending demand of land regularisation in Kothagudem, he reminded that pattas were given to as many as 4,700 residents when he was a Minister during YSR government in 2004. And now, conveyance deeds were issued to the remaining residents with the support of CM KCR. About 7,000 residents of Kothagudem town have applied for pattas and land survey is going on.

All the residents, who applied for regularisation of their lands, would be given pattas in phased manner, Venkateswar Rao said and added that he would hand over the conveyance deeds to the residents at their doorsteps as soon as land survey is completed.

The pattas now issued will give full rights to the residents and they could sell and buy lands and also avail loans. He promised that Kothagudem constituency would be made a model one in terms of development with the funds sanctioned by the State government.

A rally was taken out prior to the public meeting and municipal councillors of all parties have been invited for the meeting.

Municipal Chairperson Kapu Sita Mahalakshmi, party leader Vanama Raghavendra Rao and others were present.

It might be noted that the government has issued the GO in August 2019 after a request made by the MLAs in coal belt areas in the State as locals, who have been living on SCCL lands unauthorizedly, wanted their lands regularised.
